Supporting Healthy Growth, Every Step of the Way

Children grow fast — and staying on top of their health is one of the best ways to support their future. At Damar Health Services, a Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alike (FQHCLA) and safety-net provider, our well-child visits are designed to monitor growth and development, keep up with immunizations, provide on-site lab services when needed, and give parents peace of mind along the way.

Whether it’s your baby’s first checkup or your teen’s back-to-school visit, our care is comprehensive, coordinated, and centered on your child’s needs.

What’s Included in a Well-Child Visit?

Each visit is tailored to your child’s age and needs, and may include:

Growth and developmental check-ins
Hearing, vision, and milestone screenings
Immunizations and vaccine updates
Nutrition and sleep guidance
On-site lab work as needed
- many routine tests can be performed right here in our clinic
School or daycare health forms
Time for your questions and concerns

These visits are also a great opportunity to build a relationship with your child’s healthcare provider and talk about things like behavior, learning, social development, and emotional well-being.

When Should My Child Have a Well-Child Visit?

Regular wellness checkups are essential to support your child’s growth, development, and long-term health. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends the following schedule for well-child visits:

Infants and Toddler

Newborn (within the first few days after birth)
2 weeks old
2 months
4 months
6 months
9 months
12 months
15 months
18 months
24 months (2 years)
30 months (2.5 years)

Preschool & School-Age Children

Once every year from age 3 through 18

These yearly checkups allow your child’s provider to monitor physical growth, emotional development, and overall well-being — while giving you a chance to ask questions and get support along the way.
